Blogmas: Lazy Sunday

I really like Sundays. I don't know why they're different, time is an illusion and all that. There's something about them that makes me feel productive and refreshed. I guess all week it feels like I have to go, go, go, and Saturdays are all about running errands and meeting with friends and doing this, that or the next.

Sundays are me days, though. Days where I can sleep in and wake up whenever I want to and roll around the house in PJ's or a kigu. Days where I have no responsibility to anyone but myself (and the cats) and have free time to relax. Or to get chores done, cook meals that are nice and healthy and sit with coffee and watch a movie without feeling like I've wasted time.

Today I watched a movie I've been meaning to for a while, The Help. It was great! I really loved everything about it, especially the hair and wardrobe. I have such a weak spot in my soul for old fashion, and also cute little babies in old fashion. The story was nice and acting on point. If you haven't seen it for some reason, like myself, watch it! It's worth it.

I also watched a random pick on Netflix called Tallulah. It's about a homeless/van living girl who steals a baby from her terrible mom and claims it as her own. It was unexpected and cute, but be warned that there's a sex scene within the first 5 minutes and there's 100% Ellen Page booby front and center.

With these two movies I get to cross off one of my December goals-- Watch 4 new movies. The other two were The Christmas Chronicles and Inglourious Basterds. I know, I know, don't tell me. "Another old movie! Where have you been?!" Look. I hate movies. I love them, but I hate them. I can't stand sitting down for so long to watch something. I have to get up and move after 45 minutes or I start feeling antsy and panicked. I usually watch half of a movie and stop and then come back to it later after I've walked it off.

I thought The Christmas Chronicles was stupidly adorable and hilarious and just a lovely little Christmas movie for this new era of life. The Santa design was cute and he was so sweet, I couldn't help but love him too. The Santa Science, if you will, was thought out well enough in my opinion to be plausible too.

Inglourious Basterds was such a hit with me because man do I love WWII movies for some reason. I'll sit down and watch a documentary or even an action movie based around the war with no issue. They just captivate me. I've visited the Holocaust museum in Dallas and it was humbling and I was grateful to have gone to it. I've also been to the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum in Vienna which was absolutely flooring. I learned a lot about history there and I'm thankful that I took the time to go and learn. Also the wardrobe for IB was top notch, gotta love me some 40's fashion.

What movies do you guys want to see? Ones that you've never seen for some reason, ones you love, ones you hate. Lemme know!
